How do I order catering services provided by HK Tramways?

Please email your catering order to tramhire@hktramways.com. Full payment shall be settled by cash deposit or bank transfer at least 10 working days prior to the hiring date.

Can I bring my own food and drinks to the party tram?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks including alcohol to the party tram.

Can I do decorations inside the party tram?

Simple decorations inside the party tram are allowed. All decorations shall not cover any windows/doors and shall be fixed by strings. Tapes and sticky materials are prohibited. Confetti is not allowed. General balloons with normal gas are allowed, while helium or hydrogen balloons which are able to fly or float are not allowed.

Do I have extra time for preparation and decoration?

You may come to the Whitty Street Tram Depot 15 minutes before your hiring period for preparation and simple decoration.

Does HK Tramways provide decoration services?

We're afraid that we don't provide any decoration services.

Can I pay deposit first?

Only full payment is accepted.

Are there any toilet facilities on the party tram?

Except for TRAM No.18 equipped with a restroom onboard, there are no toilet facilities on the other party trams. The tram will stop at terminus along the route for 5 to 8 minutes break, toilet is nearby each terminus.

Are the party trams air-conditioned?

Only Red Antique Tram (upper deck indoor area) and TRAM No. 18 (entire tram compartment) are air-conditioned.

What is the difference between Private Charter and Company Charter?
Private Charter
  • The charter is under individual name and the nature is only for private parties / gatherings;
  • Advanced reservations will be accepted 2 months prior to the hiring date. New reservations will open on the 1st of each month online;
  • There are no discounts on any catering orders.
Company Charter
  • The charter is under company name and the nature is only for private parties / gatherings;
  • Advanced reservations will be accepted 3 months prior to the hiring date. New reservations will open on the 1st of each month online;
  • 15% off discount is available on catering order (only 'French Cuisine' menu).

What is the difference between Company Charter and Commercial Charter?
Company Charter
  • The charter is under company name and the nature of the charter is for private parties / gatherings only.
Commercial Charter
  • The charter is under company name and the nature of the charter is for promotional activities, publicity, filming or any other activities / announcements to the public;
  • Rundown, shooting content, equipment list and list of artists shall be emailed to tramhire@hktramways.com at least 14 working days prior to the hiring date. The booking will be confirmed only upon HK Tramways' approval.

Adverse weather arrangement

If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Red or Black Rain Storm Warning Signal is issued during any time on the booked date and before the commencement of the hiring period, the hire shall be cancelled automatically and the hirer may elect either to collect the refund of the hiring fee or reschedule the booking within 3 months. If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Red or Black Rain Storm Warning Signal is issued during the party, the party tram shall get back to the Whitty Street Tram Depot immediately. Under these circumstances, no refund or rescheduling will be offered.

Refund policy

Payment is non-refundable under all circumstances except when Typhoon Signal No.8 or above or Red or Black Rain Storm Warning Signal is issued during any time on the booked date and before the commencement of the hiring period.
